Interviews

Steve Rowland has engaged in conversation with some of the iconic thought and musical leaders of our time.

As an oral historian, he has worked for The United States Holocaust Museum and The Columbia University Oral History Research Office. He has won the prestigious American Oral History Association’s Gold Medal.  He has conducted interviews about the history of Neurology, the Holocaust, Shakespeare, prison reform, United States political history, and of course, about American Music of many genres and periods.

His interviews examine society, creativity, artistic growth, economics, racism, spirituality, and more.

He published his first book of interviews in late 2018 – a collection of interviews about Leonard Bernstein.  Leonard Bernstein Oral History, Volume 1.
